HEBROCK AKV 3004 DK (2018)

SKU: AKV-3004

HEBROCK AKV 3004 DK automatic single-sided edge banding machine, designed for the continuous processing and finishing of straight panel edges in furniture, cabinetry and woodworking production.

The machine is equipped with a quick-heating hot-melt glue pot for the application of EVA hot-melt adhesive to the panel edge, followed by automatic feeding, pressing and trimming of the edge material.

1. Edge material feeding

The edge band is supplied from a roll and automatically fed into the machine. The machine controls the edge material as it enters the gluing and application section.

2. Hot-melt glue application

The machine uses a hot-melt glue pot / quick-melt glue system. Related AKV 3000-series documentation describes a rapid-heating glue pot with approximately 4.5 minutes heating time, automatic starting of the glue application roller and adjustable glue dosage.

3. Edge band application

The heated adhesive is transferred to the panel edge and the edge material is pressed against the workpiece by the pressure rollers, producing a continuous glued edge.

4. End trimming / cross-cutting

The machine incorporates an end-trimming/cross-cut saw for cutting the front and rear ends of the applied edge material cleanly. The AKV 3004 DK reference specifically lists a cross-cut saw.

5. Top and bottom trimming

The applied edge is then machined flush with the top and bottom surfaces of the panel.

Your machine's configuration is described as having top and bottom profile trimming, allowing the cutter configuration to be changed for different edge profiles, such as:

  • Straight/flush trimming
  • Chamfering
  • Radius/profile trimming

The related AKV 3005 DK documentation specifically describes a combined cutter capable of radius, straight and chamfer milling.

6. Radius/profile scraping

A profile scraper is used to remove the final small machining marks and produce a consistent radius on the edge profile.

This is particularly useful after radius milling, leaving a smoother and more uniform finished edge.

7. Glue scraping

A glue scraper removes excess adhesive residue from the transition between the edge band and the panel surface.

This produces a cleaner finished joint and reduces the amount of manual cleaning required afterwards.

8. Buffing / polishing

The final buffing/polishing units clean and polish the finished edge, improving the appearance of the PVC/ABS edge and removing minor marks left by the previous processing stages.
